Teatro Greco Street

Via Teatro Greco - 98039 Taormina

Surrounded by ancient buildings and typical shops, the street leads from Piazza Badia to the Greek Theatre.

To the left of the street there is a beautiful staircase dedicated to Timoleon, Corinth General who established his headquarters in Taormina, and who liberated Sicily from the Tyrants and the Carthaginians. The staircase imitates that of the Trinità dei Monti in Piazza di Spagna in Rome and here, every year in May, in honor of the Roman staircase, there are exposed azalea plants.

You can also admire the beautiful building where lived Lady Florence Trevelyan, wife of Professor Salvatore Cacciola, rich English Lady who ordered the construction of public gardens.
