Radicepura Garden Festival

From april 21st to october 21st, the Radicepura Garden Festival takes place in Giarre

The first biennial devoted to garden design and landscape architecture of Mediterranean

Stop for breath the essences of Mediterranean in a place that will wowed you for its mingling between Art, Nature and Culture. Thoughts, contemporary images and poetic languages are disclosed by a path that leads the visitor to know the more intimate sphere of the artist and of the observer himself.

Radicepura Garden Festival wants to speak “an universal language: the one of people who overlook at the Mediterranean sea and that, now more than ever, have to come together for building a different future” (as said by Mario Faro, promoter of the event).

Among the gardens realised by the international designers and landscapers there will be the art works of the artists Emilio Isgrò and Alfio Bonanno. Il sogno di Empedocle (Empedocles’ dream), the installation by Emilio Isgrò (conceptual artist, painter but also poet, writer and playwriter) retraces the legend of Empedocles of Agrigento – a scientist, sorcerer and philosopher – who was sucked into the crater of Mount Etna while studying its gaseous emissions.

The work of Alfio Bonanno is divided in two moments: on april 21st during the opening of Radicepura Garden Festival the artist realises two big installations with olive trees and vine plants; at the end of may there will be a personal exhibition with his works.
