Maurits Cornelis Escher was a dutch graphic designer and engraver, who lived between 1898 and 1972.

His name is bound to his works on wood and lithographs which have impossible structures, exploration of infinity, geometries which change their shape. This is why, Escher is an artist loved by scientists, matematicians and phisician, who appreciate his rational use of geometrical distorsions and of scientific concept (often for obtaining paradoxical effects).
